Peter J. Burrows 75, died peacefully at his home in Moneta, VA with family on August 25, 2023. He was born on January 14, 1948 in Southport Lancashire, United Kingdom; the son of George and Brenda Burrows.
He worked in international security and sales for much of his career and later on in life, he ran his own home improvement business, Accents & Additions.
Pete was a romantic at heart who loved to wine, dine, and entertain friends and family; sharing wild stories of his travels around the world. He was a keen golfer who was known to enjoy a mulligan or two, or three. He loved to be on the ocean whether sailing, fishing, or on a cruise. His passion in life was always Formula One racing and his Lewis Hamilton. Over the last few years, he spent a concerted amount of time working and volunteering with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department COPS program and Inmate Work Force. He treasured the time spent with inmates; listening to and giving advice. He wanted each of them to know that he valued them for who they were and not judged for what they had done.
Peter is survived by his sons Jason, Spencer, and Tony and daughters-in-law Lavender and Nicki. Grandchildren Eimilie and Adin, Alisha and Lauren and great-granddaughter Maisie.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Franklin County Sheriff’s Department COPS program. <Franklincountysheriffsoffice.org> whom he was humbled and proud to serve.
His family wishes to extend special gratitude to Harry and Karen Simmerman and Marion and David Wetcher for their many kindnesses and sacrifices, we are forever in your debt.
A memorial visitation will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 665 S. Main Street, Rocky Mount, VA 24151 from 1 pm to 3 pm on Saturday, September 2, 2023. A time of sharing memories by family and friends will take place at 2 p.m.
