Rachel Wray Peters

Rachel Wray Peters, known to everyone as Tootie, age 91 of Boones Mill died Saturday, September 5, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Thomas Peters; parents, Harvey and Eliza Angle Wray; brothers and sisters, Anthelene Wray Dunn, Elwood Wray, Ward Wray, Hazel Wray Barnhart, and Dorothy Wray Fisher. Surviving are her son, James Lee Peters; granddaughter, Daryn Peters; grandson, Jeff Peters; and great-grandson, Kyle Peters; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Peters was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and neighbor. She was a devoted member of Boones Mill Christian Church where she served with the Christian Women’s Fellowship. Funeral services will be conducted from Boones Mill Christian Church 11 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Joe Roberts and Elder Dan Long officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Boones Mill Christian Church, 7950 Grassy Hill Road, Boones Mill, Virginia 24065. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
