Ralph Douglas Jones

Ralph Douglas Jones, age 82 formerly of Franklin County died Tuesday, December 28, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Della Hart Jones; wife, Lucille Hodges Jones; son, Ralph Jones, Jr.; and brothers, Ray, Grover and Frank Jones. Mr. Jones was born in Marion, Virginia and retired from Homestead Air force Base after 20 years of service. He served during the Vietnam War, World War II and Korean War. Ralph also retired from Pan Am Airlines with 25 years of service. During retirement he was a substitute school teacher. Surviving are his children, Larry Jones, Ken Jones and wife Sharon, Tina Jones; grandchildren, Allisun, Susanne, Justin, Brian, Kristina and Kristen; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Janie Jones Rutherford; and brother, Niel Jones. Graveside services with military honors will be conducted from Mountain View Memorial Park 2 p.m. Thursday with Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating.
