Randall Haynes Adkins

Randall (Randy) Haynes Adkins, age 64 of Penhook, Va. passed away Monday, June 22, 2009. He was an avid race fan and loved Saturday nights in the pits at Franklin County Speedway. He was a member of Forrest Hill Christian Church, and retired from Pillowtex with over 30 years service. Preceding him in death were his parents, Oscar Haynes and Melva Amos Adkins. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Amy & Justin Wynn; grandson Alden and granddaughter Charli who were the love of his life, brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Jeanette Adkins; Barry and Becky Adkins; Dennis Adkins; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Tony Plybon; eleven nieces and nephews including Corey, Kirsten and Kemper to whom he was “Uncle Mom”. Funeral services will be conducted from Forrest Hill Christian Church (13181 Snow Creek Rd. Penhook) 3:00 p.m. Thursday with Ted Clifton, Minister officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Snow Creek Rescue Squad. His family will be receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount and other times at the home of Barry and Becky Adkins 15373 Snow Creek Rd.
