Raymond Turner, age 90 of Glade Hill, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at the VA Hospital in Salem.
He was born May 22, 1917 a son of the late Thomas and Hettie Turner. He was also preceded in death by three sisters and six brothers.
Mr. Turner is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Karen Turner of Goodview; one sister, Naomi Dowdy of Greensboro, North Carolina; one half-sister, Scarlet Bond of Richmond; one half-brother, Eldridge Turner of Glade Hill; and his favorite niece, Bernice Blankenship.
Raymond’s family would like to thank his special friend Irene Arrington for the care and love she gave to him.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Friday with Pastor Eddie Hawks officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
His family will be receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
