Richard V. Hall, 88, of Hardy, VA, departed for his heavenly home on Saturday, December 2, 2017. He was a life-long resident of Franklin County, VA and served his church, Halesford Baptist Church, as a Deacon for 20 years. Mr. Hall distinguished his life by all who knew him as a compassionate, caring and kind man who performed untold deeds of kindness for his family, loved ones and those in the community who needed his assistance or guidance. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy with dignity and honor. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Louise P. Hall, two children, son Michael Hall and his wife Gladys; daughter Sue Dodd and husband Park; and foster son, Roy Pagans; three grandchildren, Tyler Call, Lauren Ward and her husband Corey, and Elliott Call; and four great granddaughters Emma Call, Ella Call, Suzy Ward and Libby Ward.
The funeral service will be held at Halesford Baptist Church, 2485 Lost Mountain Road, Wirtz, VA 24184 at 12 noon, Wednesday, December 6, 2017. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to noon. Graveside services with United States Navy Honors will be immediately after the service at Franklin Memorial Park, 21440 Virgil H. Goode HWY, Rocky Mount, VA 24151. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount/ Smith Mountain Lake.
