Richard Lee Sigmon

Richard Lee Sigmon, age 72 of Rocky Mount passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025. He was born July 11, 1952, a son of the late Daniel Elbert and Vera Mae Weddle Sigmon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy S. Love; brothers-in-law, Floyd Love, V.B. Hall and Jimmy Housman; nephew, Steve Hall; and great-niece, Emma Walker. Surviving are his children, Renee (Mike) Burton and Rick (Cynthia) Sigmon; grandchildren, Brandon (Crystal), Ben (Kaitlyn), Lola, Daniel, Riley, Zack and Max; brother, Jerry (Patty) Sigmon; sisters, Alice S. Hall, Sue S. Housman and Betty S. Hudson; numerous loving nieces and nephews; and special friend, Joyce Willie. Richard joined Rocky Mount Baptist Church in 1982 where he has served as a Sunday school teacher, church deacon and choir member. He also loved NASCAR and telling dad jokes. A graveside service will be held at Franklin Memorial Park, 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025 with Pastor Trevor Clatterbuck officiating.
