Richard Glenn Wells

Richard Glenn Wells, age 71 of Rocky Mount and formerly of Kernersville, NC died Saturday, January 4, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne R. Wells; parents, Bennie and Annie G. Wells; sisters, Frances Parsons, Ellnor Motley, Nina Williams, Barbara Riggs, Patsy Ayers; brothers, Coleman, Eugene, Alvin, Shirley, Lester, Leslie and Julian Wells. Surviving are his brother, Rev. Herbert Wells; twin sister, Roslyn Lavinder and husband Rev. Lynwood Lavinder; sister, Linda Vernon and husband Ray Vernon; many nieces and nephews. He was the 14th child of his family of 16. Richard loved music and enjoyed playing his banjo, mandolin, and bass guitar. Special thanks to Franklin Healthcare nurses and CNA?s for their excellent care during his stay. Funeral services will be conducted from Furnace Creek Baptist Church 11 a.m. Monday with Rev. Herbert Wells officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Furnace Creek Baptist Church. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
