Rita Graham Thomas

Rita Graham Thomas, 62 of Rocky Mount, VA passed away Tuesday, April 27th at her home in Rocky Mount. Rita’s life centered around her faith with Jehovah God. She regularly attended Bible education meetings at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on the corner of 122 and Wirtz Road until Covid. She then faithfully continued to attend via zoom. Rita dedicated her life to her God on June 1, 1976. She had an amazing heart, full of love for everyone and adored her family. She would always find a way to proudly talk about her kids and grandkids in a conversation. She was preceded in death by her “Daddy”, James Graham; sister, Teresa Hambrick; maternal grandmother, Emma Boitnott; paternal grandfather, Tommy Sink; “Ma” (paternal grandmother), Lola Graham; “Pa Pa” (paternal grandfather), Harvey Graham; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Surviving Rita ( in Rita’s words ) are “Mamma”, Mary Louise Graham; “My Kids”, Crystal Renee McCulley (Jeff), Jamie Dale Sherr (Tarah), Terry Lee Thomas; “Grandkids”, Dakota (Maddie), Abby, Brittney (Josh), Matthew, Hannah, Jayson, Wyatt, Jamie Jr (Ashley), Alex, Savannah, Sebastian, Maverick, and Jeremiah; “Great Grandkids”, Cameron, Clayton, Olivia and one on the way; sisters, Trina Graham, Joyce Hodges (Earl-passed Feb 2021); brothers, James L. Graham (Marilyn), Clark Settles (Sharon); “8.5 million+ Spiritual Brothers & Sisters worldwide”; many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends…. There are no words to describe the loss of such a loving mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, and friend. We all long for the day we will feel her strong hugs again in the amazing future promised at Psalms 37:29 & Rev 21:4 which she also tried to share with others. We all love and miss you! A memorial for Rita will be held via a virtual Zoom meeting May 15th at 3 pm. All are invited. Please contact a family or friend for the link.
