Robert Alan Dobson

Robert Alan “Bobby” Dobson, age 60 of Hardy, passed away Sunday October 26, 2008. Mr. Dobson was a rural letter carrier with the Hardy Post Office and a US Navy Veteran of Vietnam. He was a member of Halesford Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father Woodrow Wilson Dobson. Surviving are his wife Pat Dobson; children Eric Angel and wife Tina, Sara Dobson Munsey and husband Scott; grandchildren Austin, Dylan, Jordan, Kylie, Meghan, Hunter and Levi; mother Jacqueline Springer; brother and sister-in-law Ronnie and Sherlene Dobson; sisters and brothers-in-law Judy and Melvin Simmons, Jenny and Dennis Bridger; special niece Penny Simmons; also many other nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Halesford Baptist Church, 2585 Lost Mtn. Rd., Wirtz, VA 24184, or to your local volunteer rescue squad. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Melvin Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday with the family receiving friends from 6-9 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount.
