Robert Cornelius Gibson

Robert Cornelius Gibson, age 77 of Boones Mill died Saturday, June 19, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie R. Gibson and Edith Farris Gibson; brothers, Joseph B. Gibson and John L. Gibson. Surviving are his loving wife of 48 years, Peggy Mills Gibson; son, George Gibson and wife Louella of Wirtz; daughter, Rita Peterson and husband Robert of North Carolina; grandchildren, Adam Peterson, Brittney Peterson; his special little boy, Dillon Gibson; sister-in-law, Nellie Gibson of Boones Mill; sisters, Geneva Chittum and husband Douglas of Goodview, Martha Yopp and husband Joe of Boones Mill, Joyce McGuire and husband Larry of Rocky Mount, Ella Cooper and husband Donnie of Rocky Mount; brother, Arthur Gibson and wife Gail of Rocky Mount; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted from Mountain View Memorial Park 11 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. John Collins officiating. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral & Cremation Service, Rocky Mount.
