Robert Owen Hutcherson

Robert Owen “Rabbit” Hutcherson, age 59 of Rocky Mount died Sunday, October 23, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Ruth Bennett Hutcherson. Robert was a carpenter and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed woodworking, motocross bikes, hunting, fishing, four wheelers, golf and helping others. He was a member of the 4-H and FFA. Surviving are his wife, Gail Hutcherson; children, Travis Hutcherson and fiancé, Kim Wilson, Shelly and Jamie Tuck, Stephanie King and John McNeil; grandchildren, Haley, Jase, Jon David Tuck, and Evan McNeil; special buddy, Nicholas Hodges; special companion and buddy, Jewels; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Jan Hutcherson; special aunt, Lois English; many nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at Doe Run Christian Church on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Dan Agee officiating. Interment will follow in the Hutcherson Family Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Doe Run Christian Church, 3536 Doe Run Road, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151 or the American Cancer Society, 1079 C Spruce Street, Martinsville, Virginia 24112. His family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
