Robert F. Key, a man larger than life, passed away at home, April 27 th , 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was ushered into heaven in the presence of his significant other. his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Robert was raised and lived in Poughkeepsie NY, in a home that was built by hand by his father. He dwelled there with his father and mother, Robert and Ewiga Key, along with his younger brother Gordon Key. Later as young man he enlisted in the United States Army, and married Marianne Rogileri, who then embarked to Germany as he assisted battles going on due to the Vietnam War. During this time, his first born arrived.  After his honorary discharge, he returned with wife and child to purchase his first home on the very street he was raised on. And there his second child was born. Robert began his career at IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY as a manager. He contributed towards event planning and organized programs in the IBM Country Club. Robert contributed to the community via raising money for muscular dystrophy, and organizing several fund-raising events in their name.  He spent many a summers at Lake Champlain, VT. starting as a young boy with his dad, learning to fish and navigate the waters of Lake Champlain.  This has now become a family tradition that Robert Key shared with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He made sure everyone had a fishing pole in hand, how to drive a boat, and most important, how to swim along with teaching how to predict the weather via the waters. A family favorite on the lake still remains Gull Rock and the Reef, shared to all by Robert.

Robert is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Ewiga Key, and his former wife, Marianne Rogileri Key. Survived by his children, Crystal Attanasio- Buffone, her husband Frank Buffone, grandchildren, Albrie and Emma, great grandchildren, Codie, Sofia, Dallas, Levi, Abigail and Logan. Chris Key and his wife Lisa Key, grandchildren, Christopher and Ashley, and great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Madison. His significant other of 35 years, whom he resided with, Lynne O’Connor and her children, Skip, Steven, Jason, Joey and Cheri along with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, that they both adored.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held in the near future in New York. A formal notification will be announced via phone, email, social media and local newspaper at that time. His family will greet friends at Flora Funeral Service, 5-7 pm, Friday, April 29, 2022.
