Robert Edward Patterson, Sr.

Robert Edward Patterson, Sr. “Eddy” age 79 of Rocky Mount passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017. He was born March 4, 1938, the son of the late Joseph Edward and Mary Annie Fralin Patterson and was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Woody. Eddy dairy farmed for a number of years and was retired owner of Patterson Trucking. Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years, Linda, sons, Robert (Bob) and Wendy and Joseph (Joe). Also three sisters, Evelyn Dowdy, Frances Nix (Tom) and Emily McCraw, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two special great- grandchildren, Destiny and Haley, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 17, 2017 with Rev. T. Ivey Adams, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Patterson Family Cemetery. The family respectfully request any food be taken to Sontag Community Center where a meal will be held for family and friends following the burial. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
