Robert L. Sink

Robert L. Sink, age 83 of Rocky Mount departed this life peacefully in his home on Monday, August 10, 2015. He was a treasured father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. He served two years in the Army in the Corp of Engineers during the Korean Conflict. He supported his family driving a truck where he retired from McLean. He enjoyed retirement gardening and refinishing furniture. He had a special talent for taking impossible broken pieces and giving them a greater beauty than the day they were made. We entrust him into our heavenly Father's hands to render a similar work. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Walter and Mattie Rutrough Sink; son, Barry Lee Sink; brothers, John William (Willie), David and Joseph Sink; sisters, Rosa Sink and Elizabeth Sink Jamison. Surviving are his son, Bruce D. Sink and girlfriend Debbie Coulter; daughters, Linda S. Hodges, Lisa Beard and husband Ron, Sonia Seay and husband Bobby; nine grandchildren; multiple great-grandchildren; and special friends, Jean Ferguson, Leonard and Patsy Martin. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Leonard Martin and Elder Junior Conner officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
