Robert Lacy Walker

Robert Lacy Walker, age 89 of Rocky Mount died Monday, February 1, 2010. He was born May 21, 1920 a son of the late Robert and Roberta Handy Walker. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Ellen Walker; and brothers, Herman, Cliff, Russell and Howard. Mr. Walker was retired from GE in Lynchburg after 20 years of services and was a United States Army Veteran serving in World War II. Surviving are his sister, Elva Cundiff; brother, Elmer “Bud” Walker; sisters-in-law, Violet and Dorothy; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services with Military Honors will be conducted from Fort Hill Memorial Park, Lynchburg 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Eddie Hawks and Rev. Jerry Young officiating. His family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service, exclusive provider for Veteran’s and Family Memorial Care, Rocky Mount.
