Rodney Carl Stangel, age 50 of Ferrum and formerly of Norco, CA., left on his last flight home Friday, August 8, 2008.
He is now in a holding pattern for his survivors, wife, Beverly J. Stangel; son, R. Casey Stangel and friend Natalie Anderson, father-in-law, Roger Jones; sisters-in-law, Rosa (Paul) Perkins and Paige D. Jones (son Eli) all of Ferrum. Also surviving are his sister and niece, Katherine and Ashley Karges of Los Angeles, CA. and numerous friends and relatives.
A special thanks to all who participated in caring for Rodney in his pre-flight period. A very, very special thanks to Home Health Nurse, Jennifer Williams and Dr. Strong.
Graveside services will be conducted from the Stangel Family Cemetery 2 p.m. Sunday with Roger Jones officiating.
His family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
