Ronald “Ronnie” Dean Wray of Boones Mill, passed over into eternal life with Christ on Christmas Day, 2020 after contracting COVID-19.  Ronnie was born on June 19, 1944 to the late Howard and Anna (Mills) Wray.  He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Shirley Anderson Wray and his brother Alfred Wray. He is survived by his son Randy Wray of Boones Mill, daughter Linette Wray Nolen (Will), grandson Gary Nolen of Glen Allen, VA and grandson Ben Nolen of Fairfax, VA.  He is also survived by his siblings Joan (John) Boothe, Patty (DJ) Pollard, Jeff (Lisa) Wray, “cousin like a brother” James (Harriet) Mills, sister-in-law Judy Wray and special friend Rita Robertson. Ronnie was employed by GE in Salem for 38 years, where he was known as Aldo and Apple Man.  He farmed apples and other fruit on the Wray family farm where he greeted his customers with warmth and laughter.  He served on both the Boones Mill and GE Volunteer Rescue Squads.  He loved God and he loved his family.  He was the best Poppie to his grandsons. Ronnie loved and was loved by many and will be missed.  He was a life long member of Cedar Bluff Church of the Brethren where a memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
