Ronald “Ronnie” E. Wray, age 74 of Rocky Mount, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021. He was born October 18, 1947 to the late Robert L. and Carmen O. Wray. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth, Bobby, and Gary. Surviving are his children, Matt Wray (Susan), Donna Magill (Matt), and Kym Wray; grandchildren, Hallie and Aniston Wray, Austin Magill, Camden and Tatum Cooper and other family members, Bonnie Mitchell Wray and Lindsay Brown Cantrell. Ronnie served in the United States Marine Corps as an expert marksman. He also served his local community on the Rocky Mount Fire Department since 1975. Ronnie was owner of Rocky Mount Ready Mix, following his father who began the business in 1965. He loved life and was a proud Papa to his grandchildren and loved attending their sporting events and activities. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rocky Mount Fire Department. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 10, 2021 with Rev. Matthew Ricks officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
