Ronald L. Hall, Sr. of Rocky Mount passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018, at his residence. Ronnie served the United States Army, inducted November 1, 1969 and honorably discharged November 1, 1974 receiving the Bronze Star award. He was an outstanding Commander of American Legion Post 6. Ronnie supported veterans, civic groups, school programs and coordinated and led the most successful fund raiser for the Post. He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Helen Hall; grandson Joseph Maxey; brother Larry Hall; sister Marcie Altice. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Janice Hall; daughters Rhonda Jones (Robert), Melinda Dowdy (Donald); son Ronald L. Hall, Jr. (Michelle); step children, Jimmy W. Hall II, Tammie Dalton(Darrell); grandchildren, Stephanie Watkins (Zack), Bud Foster (Carrie), Jerred Hall and Mason Hall; step-grandchildren McKinleigh and Mason Williams, Alisha Holley, Ariel Hall and Whitney Woody; great-grandchildren Chelsea, Abigail and Aslynn; step-great-grandchildren Mason and Jolene; brother, Lawrence Hall, Jr. (Virginia), sisters, Vicky Young (Ronnie), Deborah Hall, Tracie Hale, brothers-in-law, Sammy Altice and Tim Hale; aunt Shirley Mabe; many special nieces, nephews and cousins, special friends, Bud Myers, Fred Bassett, Doug Beatty and Randall Hodges; Memorial services will be conducted at Fairview Church of the Brethren, 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018 with Pastor Jeff Wray and Rev. Bob Andrews officiating. Inurnment with military honors will follow in Jones Cemetery. His family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m., Saturday at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
