Ronnie Dexter Thompson, Sr.

Ronnie Dexter Thompson, Sr., age 84 of Ferrum died Sunday, September 27, 2026. He was born October 26, 1941 a son of the late Willard and Elsie Boyd Thompson. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Jeannie Lankford; brothers, Frank and Earl Thompson; and sister, Doris Thompson. Surviving are his wife, Betty Thompson; children, Teresa Burton (Randy), Ronnie “R.D.” Thompson, Jr. and Lonnie A. Thompson (Shannon); and grandson, Chris Burton. Ronnie loved hunting and being outdoors. Funeral services will be conducted from Endicott Assembly of God 2 p.m. Thursday with Pastor Marla Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the Thompson Family Cemetery. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
