Rose Tuck Via

Rose Tuck Via, age 87 died peacefully on Wednesday, December 30, 2020.

Born November 8, 1933, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William Via, and parents James Swanson and Sarah Jefferson Tuck.

She is survived by her daughter Tammy Joyce (John) of Cheraw, SC; granddaughter Lauren Joyce (Laurie Bryan) of North Beach, MD; brother W.D. Tuck of Rocky Mount, and nieces Jennifer Pagans and Donna Van Dyke.

After retiring from Dupont, Rose spent several years as a dedicated volunteer at Trinity Mission Nursing Home.  She loved putting a smile on the resident’s faces, often tap dancing for them or helping them play bingo.

Special gratitude is expressed to McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC, for making her last few days of life comfortable and peaceful.  Also, many thanks to James Lynch and Logan Bower, who helped Rose and Billy in countless ways.

With Covid a concern, a private graveside service will be held, with a celebration of life a safer, later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial to your local food bank or McLeod Hospice House, 1203 East Cheves St, Florence, SC 29506.
