Roy Earnest Johnson

Roy Earnest Johnson, age 77 of Rocky Mount departed this life Wednesday, March 23, 2022. He was born July 7, 1944 to Troy and Rachel Boone Johnson. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Wava Sink Johnson, married March 31, 1965 sharing 57 years together. In their union, they added three daughters: Candy (Michael) Rowe, Lisa Keen (Andy) Teague, and Tammy (Jon) Yi. Blessings that added so much joy to him were his seven grandchildren: Alex (Shelby) Rowe, Danielle and Courtney Rowe, Payden Keen, Ashton, Hudson and Emily Yi; two great-granddaughters, Everly and Reagan Rowe; four step-grandchildren: Sam, Avery, Ainsley, and Abigail Teague; sister, Gloria France; dear and special cousins, Carl (Anita) Johnson and Wendell Brooks who spent many happy times together and supporting his wife through his journey with dementia. Special thanks to Hope and James Jones, Missy Talley, Rhonda (deceased) and Roger Sisco, Tommy Meeks, and Jesse Jones for their countless assistance over the years. Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel, 12:00 noon Saturday, March 26, 2022 with Elder Randy Boone officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive guests from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon prior to the service. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
