Roy Eugene Lithgow

Roy Eugene (Gene) Lithgow, 81, of Smith Mountain Lake, VA, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 8, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parent, Kenneth and Ruth Lithgow; a daughter, Sheri Lithgow; and his brother, Stanley Lithgow. Surviving are his loving wife, Jacqueline Brantley Lithgow; his brother, John Lithgow and wife, Betty; sons, Wayne Lithgow and wife, Yvonne, David Lithgow and wife, Brenda; step-daughter, Debrah Young and husband, Danny; step-son, Tom and wife, Andrea; and nine grandchildren. Gene faithfully served his Lord as an Elder, Deacon, and Sunday School Superintendent of Antioch Church of Christ in Hoopeston, IL. He also served as a Sunday School teacher and chairman of the Outreach Committee at Halesford Baptist Church in Wirtz, VA. A memorial service and burial will be held at Halesford Baptist Church on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11:00 with a memorial meal to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations are to be sent to Wounded Warrior Program c/o Veterans Services Foundation, 900 East Main St. 6th Floor West Wing, Richmond, VA 23119.
