Ruby Bowles

Ruby Gregory Haislip Bowles, age 101 of Rocky Mount went to her heavenly home Tuesday, December 10, 2013. She was born on December 10, 1912 and was preceded in death by her first husband, Leon Haislip; second husband, Lewis Franklin Bowles; parents, George and Ola Grace Gregory; sisters, Myrtle Motley, Eva Brooks, Callie Kirk, Hazel Allen, Georgie Hartberger; brothers, Clifton Gregory, Henry Gregory; son, Wade Bowles; granddaughter, Marsha Bowles. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Ronnie Clingenpeel; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary B. Haislip and wife Sheila, Lewis M. Bowles and wife Wanda; grandchildren, Renee Murray, Dana Matherly, Lori Phillips, Cathy Maggi, Melissa Lee, Ray Bowles, Mark Bowles, Rodger Bowles; 22 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren. Special thanks to the staff of Snyder Nursing Home for their loving care. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Friday with Minister Wayne Keith officiating. Interment will follow in the Haislip-Gregory Family Cemetery on Mt. Carmel Road. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one?s choice. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
