Ruby Ann Champion, age 56 of Rocky Mount died Tuesday, March 17, 2026. She was born December 2, 1969 and was preceded in death by her mother, Dena Mae Calloway; and her brothers, Thomas Champion and Michael Champion.
Surviving are her daughters, Mollie Ann Castaneda (David), Diane Williamson and Jessica Renae Isenhour; son, Joshua Dean Isenhour; her 11 grandchildren, Evieanna Isenhour, Carlos Ruiz Gonzalez, Edward Rodriguez, Emilio Rodriguez, Elena Isenhour, Marianna Pacheco, Valeria Garcia, Khalani Castaneda, Damian Castaneda, Jase Watkins, Easton Moss; brothers, Ray Champion and Don Champion; and father, Dan Champion.
Nothing fulfilled her as much as being a full-time mom and Nana. She loved dancing, music, and hanging out with friends. She was such a ball of laughter once you got past her tough exterior. She loved her crossword puzzles and collecting purses. All she cared about was giving to those close to her. She didn’t have much but always did what she could.
A graveside service will be held at the Castaneda Family Cemetery (1178 Chestnut Hill Road, Rocky Mount, Va.) 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2026 with Pastor Joe Dillon officiating. Her family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the cemetery. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
