Ruby M. Mcbride

Ruby M. McBride, age 87 of Rocky Mount went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 17, 2013. She was born to Charlie and Goldie McBride on July 21, 1926. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wade L. McBride; her son, Leonard McBride; and her sister, Leatrice Barbour. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Doug Thurman; granddaughters, Jennifer Thurman and friend, Donald Hodges, Laurie Shipman and husband, Kirby Shipman; great-grandsons whom she adored, Gage Shipman and Dylan Shipman; sisters, Dorothy Smith, Ira ? deceased, Elizabeth Maxey (Raymond ? deceased); brother, Allen McBride (Lilly); brother-in-law, Melvin Barbour; special aunt, Eula Turner; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Saturday. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Planned Pethood of Rocky Mount, P.O. Box 2118, Rocky Mount, VA 24151. Her family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount and other time at the home 230 Leanor Street, Rocky Mount.
