Ruby Irene Hodges Weaver age 93, of Rocky Mount passed away Wednesday May 16, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Willie Daniel “W.D.” Weaver, a beloved daughter; Mary Lou Weaver Fralin, her grandson; Silas Daniel “Danny” Fralin, her great-granddaughter; Amy Weaver and an infant son. Ruby worked at the Angle Silk Mill in Rocky Mount, she owned and operated Weaver’s Restaurant & Gas Station with her husband for approximately 20 plus years. Thereafter she owned and operated Weaver’s Fabric Store until her retirement in 1976. She was a gifted seamstress, cook, housewife and babysitter. She loved quilting, sewing, and her flowers. She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses at the Rocky Mount Kingdom Hall Congregation for sixteen years. Surviving are her two sons and daughters-in-law and one son-in-law; Bobby Wallace and Lydia Weaver of Bedford, Billy Wayne and Nancy Weaver of Rocky Mount and Carlton W. Fralin of Rocky Mount, eight grandchildren Ann Weaver Witcher (Marvin), Bobby Wallace Weaver Jr. (Sherry), Susan Fralin Edwards (Cecil), Cindy Weaver Crews (Thomas), Becky Fralin Silvey (Carl), Kenny Wayne Weaver and Rachael Fralin Woods, seventeen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, brother and sisters-in-law; Homer and Mary Hodges, Doris “Lossie” Hodges, Shirley Hodges and Evelyn Weaver, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 19, 2012 at Flora Funeral Chapel with Roger Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Sandy Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount and at the home of Billy and Nancy Weaver on 332 Musefield Rd. Rocky Mount, following the burial.
