Ruth Marie Campbell Ellis

Ruth Marie Campbell Ellis, age 97 of Rocky Mount, VA. passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013. She was born April 29, 1916, to William Luck and Rena Morgan Campbell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude W. (Mike) Ellis; her sons-in-law, James W. Milne, Jr. and David J. Wilson, Sr.; her sister, Mae Altice; and two brothers, Ivy A. and Henry L. Campbell. She is survived by her son and his wife, Harold H. and Marion Ellis of Penhook, VA; her daughters Sandra E. Milne, of Roanoke, VA and Linda E. Wilson of Richmond, VA. She is also survived by her four grandchildren and their spouses, Carley Ellis and David Wiseman of Boones Mill, VA, James (Whitt) Milne, III of Roanoke, VA, Amy and Michael Justice of St. Mary’s GA, and Tony and Amber Ellis of Richmond, VA; and her two great-granddaughters, Rachel and Sarah Justice. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Arthur G. Ellis of Ridgeway, VA; and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of Rocky Mount Christian Church for over 60 years. The family wishes to thank her caregivers, Lynn Wood, Audrey Wimbish, Marsha Sigmon, and Lorraine Walton for the loving care they gave to our mother. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Home, Rocky Mount, VA. Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel on Friday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Matthew Ricks and Rev. James Rivers officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
