Ruth Brown Cundiff, age 82 of Wirtz died Wednesday, July 1, 2009.
She was born May 17, 1927 a daughter of the late Emmett Parker and Etta Brooks Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Otis Boyd Cundiff; and brother, Russell Brown.
Mrs. Cundiff retired from Elizabeth Arden with 27 years service and enjoyed farming tobacco and cattle. She fought a 21 year battle of Parkinson’s disease.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Nancy Cundiff; brothers, James Washburn Brown (Virginia), Jackson Brown (Judy); sister, Nancy Poindexter (Glenn); three nephews also survive.
Graveside services will be conducted from the Cundiff Family Cemetery at the home 2 p.m. Friday with Mr. James G. Dye, Jr. officiating.

Her family will be receiving friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount.
