Ruth Jarrett Foster

Ruth J. Foster, age 84 of Blue Ridge Manor, Martinsville died Sunday September 8, 2013. She was born June 11, 1929 to Joseph Wheeler Jarrett and Nannie Alice Jarrett, in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Earl G. Foster. Mrs. Foster attended Collinsville Church of the Brethren where she enjoyed singing in the choir, she worked at E.I. DuPont prior to becoming a stay at home mom to her sons. Always putting her family before herself, she was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. Surviving are one brother Darrow W. Jarrett of Bassett, three sons David Foster, Thomas Foster and Robert Foster (Marce), all of Collinsville, Va. one granddaughter, three nephews, two nieces. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday followed by services at 6:00 p.m. at Flora Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roy McVey officiating. Interment will follow in Rakes-Ferguson Family Cemetery 4:00 p.m. Thursday. Her family will receive friends other times at the home of Robert Foster, 448 Pioneer Trail, Collinsville, Va. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Collinsville Church of the Brethren, 553 John Redd Blvd. Collinsville, Va. 24078.
