Ruth M. Overfelt, age 102, of Boones Mill, went to be with the Lord Tuesday August 8, 2007.
“Thank you for your loving care and the sacrifices you made for us. Though you will be greatly missed, we know you have a new home in heaven as God transfers your membership from Grace Brethren Church here on earth to your heavenly home above. We will always cherish the memories you have left behind.”
She was born February 25, 1905 to the late William and Martha Fisher Draper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Surviving are her son George Overfelt and wife Betty; her daughters Velda Leffel, Louise Montgomery and husband Carnell, Betty Moore and husband Jimmy; eleven grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; special nephew Jimmy Draper; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11:00 a.m. Friday with Rev. Ralph Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.
Her family will be receiving friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
