Ruth Kennett Pugh, 83 of Rocky Mount died Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at her home in the loving care of her family.
Mrs. Pugh was born August 27, 1923 a daughter of the late Beverly Hughes and Lula Maude Angle Kennett. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Price Pugh.
She was a member of Flint Hill United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her children, Benjamin and Kathy Pugh, Emily and Rabon Smith, Dale and Sandra Pugh; her grandchildren, Penny and Jeff Smith, Joey Pugh and fiancé Whitney Harlow, Lesley and Shannon Wray, Shannon Pugh, Josh and Sherrie Pugh, Jeremy Pugh, Greg Smith, Aaron and Caroline Holt; her great-grandchildren, Dylan Smith and Hannah Wray; sister, Evelyn Altice, Fayetteville, NC; sisters-in-law, Elva Harrison and Cecil Pugh; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flint Hill United Methodist Church 11 a.m. Friday with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Flint Hill United Methodist Church c/o Nancy Hodges, 30 Avon St., Rocky Mount, VA 24151 or Carilion Hospice of Franklin County, 180 Floyd Avenue, Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Thursday with her family receiving friends from 6 – 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service and other times at her home.
