Ruth Karolina Rakes

Ruth Rakes, age 81 of Rocky Mount passed away Thursday, December 16, 2010. She was born in Germany, September, 13, 1929 to the late Curt Fecker and Anna Maria Klingmann Fecker. She was preceded in death by her husband General Rakes; a daughter, Karol Ann Rakes; a brother, Kurt Fecker. Surviving are her daughter, Gerlinde Florance Rakes Maxey and husband Johnny; two grandchildren, Daniel and Matthew Maxey all of Boones Mill; half sister, Barbel Fecker Bries of Germany; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2010 from Franklin Memorial Park with the Rev. Samuel Anderson officiating. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
