Sallie Bertha Clingenpeel passed away July 29, 2016 at the age of 91. Bert was a lifelong member of Gogginsville United Methodist Church. She retired after many years of service as Boones Mill School cafeteria manager. She is preceded in death by her husband, Anderson H. Clingenpeel; sons, Jerry, Jack & Floyd Clingenpeel; daughters-in-law, Mary and Judy Clingenpeel; grandson, B. J. Clingenpeel. She is survived by one daughter, Rita Wray, Rocky Mount, VA.; one son & daughters-in-law, Lloyd & Roxie Clingenpeel, Roanoke, VA, Judy (Floyd) Clingenpeel, Saint Albans, WV, Janice (Jack) Clingenpeel, Ferrum, VA.; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren; one sister, Rena (Leslie) Oaks; sister-in-law, Florence (Tucker) Wright; and her extended family which she treasured, Dad and Mom, the late Elmer and Fannie Meador; sister, Berta Mae (Houston) Snoddy; brother, Eugene (Velma) Meador; sister-in-law, Lois (James) Meador. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Monday, August 1, 2016 at Gogginsville United Methodist Church with visitation 1 hour prior to service with Pastor Kathryn Budzik officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Gogginsville United Methodist Church, Bertha Clingenpeel Memorial Fund, 111 Gogginsville Rd., Rocky Mount, VA 24151. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Marsha Sigmon & her staff for the care given to Mom. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
