Samantha Lynn Rakes

Samantha Lynn Rakes, age 32 of Rocky Mount passed away Saturday, August 1, 2026. She was born November 14, 1993 and was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Robin Lynn Smithers; daughter, Estrella Lynn Detournillon; and brother, Tyler Altice. Surviving are her father, Jeff Rakes (Kim); daughters, Angelina Detournillon, Victoria Lynn; son Phoenix; grandparents, Victoria Smithers, Tommy and Patricia “Poochie” Wright, Curtis and Betty Rakes; sister, Lexi Jade Rakes; special aunt and uncle, Tammy and Darryl Mullins; numerous other family members. She had a good heart, loved her daughters, and would help anyone in need. She also enjoyed art and had a creative spirit. Service will be private. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
