Samuel Warren Shively

Samuel Warren Shively of Rocky Mount, VA peacefully departed this life to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, October 21, 2016. He was born on October 12, 1938 to Grover and Gay Bowling Shively who predeceased him. He enjoyed the early years of his life in Endicott, and moved to New Jersey where he worked and raised his two children. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Ellen Bridges Shively, daughter Katherine Ann Shively-Rogers and husband Dennis J. Rogers, son Bruce Warren Shively and wife Diana Shively, grandchildren Danielle and Dylan who adored him. He also leaves behind brothers, Bernard Eldridge Shively of Orlando Fla., Paul Shively and wife Kim of Floyd, and a sister Rebecca Shively of Ferrum, VA and many other family and friends who enjoyed his story telling. He was truly loved and will be greatly missed. Memorial Service will be held 2:00 on October 23, 2016, Sunday at Flora Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to a charity of your choice. His family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. Sunday at Flora Funeral service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
