She is the daughter of Katherine and Cordell Pinckard and the wife of the late Gerald “Floottie” Kendrick whom she has reunited with in heaven. In addition to her parents she leaves behind her brother Keith, her daughter Katie, 2 sons, Jessi and Shawn, 3 “adopted” children Tina, Reese and Christina, 4 grandchildren, Chase, Hunter, Austin and CJ, 5 dedicated friends, Donna, Cheryl, Debbie, Nancy and Phyllis, 2 special puppies Oreo and Elvis, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her aunt, Barbara Jean Mitchell, her maternal grandparents, James and Mattie Anderson and her paternal grandparents, Lynwood English and Mary Pinckard English and many, many close friends. Pinkie was a long time member of Doe Run Christian Church, before she moved to Lynch Station. She was also an employee at Body Camp Elementary School for 19 years where she made a lot of good friends and also the best “work family” she could’ve asked for, she enjoyed outdoor activities such as planting, flowers, hunting arrow heads, walking, outdoor flea markets and setting on her front porch enjoying her humming birds. She also enjoyed riding motorcycles with Floottie, spending time doing things with Chase and Katie and having family gatherings around a fire. Since Pinkies diagnosis in 2012, she has endured and conquered so many difficult times but now she can rest peaceful and free. Her family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring amount of love shown to them and also ask that any donations be made to Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, to assist with funeral expenses, also a special thank you to the Palliative Care unit at Roanoke Memorial Hospital and Della from Centra Hospice care for taking the absolute best care of her during her final days with us here. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Flora Funeral Chapel. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
