Sarah Davis Bussey

Sarah Davis Bussey, age 78 of Rocky Mount passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents, Byron A. and Vertie Altice Davis; and brother, Bryon Junior Davis. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 55 years, James Henry (Shorty) Bussey; and son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Carol Bussey, all of Rocky Mount. Also surviving are sister-in-law, Beulah Davis; her daughter, Elaine and family. She also leaves an extended family, wonderful neighbors and many special friends. Sarah was a generous soul, who received the most pleasure from doing for others and sharing whatever she had to give. She was well known for her beautiful flowers and garden and was a talented seamstress, crocheted and made crafts of all kinds. Sarah was retired but had previously driven the Franklin County Library Bookmobile for 41 years and was also a school bus driver for 28 years. Visitation will be Monday, September 28, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be held at Franklin Memorial Park at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2015 with Rev. Amy Pannell officiating. The family respectfully requests no food, and in lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial contributions to New Hope United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 88, Callaway, VA 24067 or a charity of your choice.
