Sarah Meda Gillispie

Sarah “Meda” Shively Trail Gillispie, age 96 of Ferrum went to be with the Lord on Tuesday November 16, 2010. She was born October 29, 1914 a daughter of the late Luther and Jathina Adkins Shively. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Tannie Trail and Jacob Gillispie; son, Jimmie Trail; grandchild Peggy Crum; brothers, Robert, Emmett and Murphy Shively; sisters, Ruby Shively, Nannie Trail, Betty Martin and Lola Hall Johnson. Surviving are daughters and son-in-law, Tiny and Wilson Crum and Corinna Peters; son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Louise Trail; sister, Vira Shively; brother and sister-in-law, Junior and Alberta Shively; sister-in-law, Geneva Shively; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; a special great-grandson Michael who was her prayer partner and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2:00 pm Thursday November 18, 2010 with Pastor Steve Miller and Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to service time and other times at the home her daughter, Corrina Peters.
