Sarah Emily Hudson Lynch, age 78, of Rocky Mount passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2007.
She was born on September 25, 1928 a daughter of the late Tipton H. and Mildred P. Hudson. Mrs. Lynch was also preceded in death by her sister Nancy H. Naff.
She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. Mrs. Lynch grew up in and was a strong member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Cecil D. Lynch; son and daughter-in-law, Charles H. and Emma Lou Lynch; grandchildren, Charles Adam Lynch, Susan E. Lynch, 2nd Lieutenant, Kyle D. Lynch, USMC and fiancée, Erin Leary; sisters, Frances H. and husband Lenford Dooley, Mary Louise H. and Raymond Williams, Martha Ann H. and Ben Divers; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Woody, Anne McBride; brothers-in-law, Guy and Peggy Lynch, P.L. and Nancy Lynch; nieces and nephews, Jesse Hughes, John, David, Richard, Mary Lou, David, Pat, Laura, Bob, Charles, John Clifford and Mary; friend, Marie Preston.
Funeral services will be conducted from Rocky Mount Baptist Church 11 a.m. Thursday with Dr. Jack Corvin officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. on Wednesday with her family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
