Shelby Hodges Jones Aliff

Shelby Hodges Jones Aliff, age 85 of Rocky Mount, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022. Shelby worked at Martin Processing and in later years, owned her own beauty salon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norton Aliff; parents, Doctor B. and Docie Hodges; son, Gary H. Jones; brothers, Billy Hodges, Noel Hodges, Oliver Nelson “Gabby” Hodges, James Roscoe “Newt” Hodges, and Ben Hodges; sisters, Odell Law, Eva Robertson, and Viola Hodges. Surviving are her sons, Leslie (Sonnia) Jones and Ricky (Rhonda) Jones; granddaughter, Tina (Jermaine) Arrington; great-grandchildren, Keagan Neel and Jace Arrington; sister, Excie Furrow; several nieces and nephews. Shelby was a Christian lady and attended Rocky Mount First Church of the Brethren. Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel, 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2022 with Pastor John Collins and Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Interment will follow at the Hodges Family Cemetery, Ball Park Road. Her family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
