Sherby Jean (Williamson) Cuff departed her earthly residence of 75 Friendly Street, Rocky Mount, VA and transitioned to her New Home in Heaven on Monday, January 1, 2018.
She was born on April 1, 1953 in Henry, Virginia to the late Roy & Dora Williamson. At an early age “Jean” (as she was called) accepted the Lord and was baptized in the Precious Name of Jesus! She was a faithful and dedicated church worker and loved doing for and giving to others.
Jean graduated from G.W.Carver High School in 1971. She furthered her education at Patrick Henry Community College and received a degree as an Administrative Assistant. Among the jobs she fulfilled, she received great reward as a paraprofessional with the Franklin County School System where she worked for over 10 years until retirement.
On Saturday, January 13, 1973 she married the love of her life James Douglas Cuff. To this union two children were born, Taurus and Ameia. Sis. Jean was not only a mother to them but to everyone she met, she took on the motherly role.
Sis. Jean was a faithful and dedicated member of the Jerusalem Way of the Cross Church where she served on the Kitchen Committee, the Mass Choir, All Ladies Choir, a member of the Missionary Board and faithful and dedicated member of Sunday School Class #2 where she enjoyed a challenge in the Word of God!
Sis. Jean was preceded in death by four brothers, Thomas, Robert, Chester and Bobby Williamson.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her devoted and loving husband of almost 45 years, Deacon James Douglas Cuff; three children, her daughter Ameia Cuff; son, Taurus Cuff both of Charlotte, NC and Maurice Cuff of Leo Minster, MASS; four grandchildren, Ambria Cuff, Jaiden Cuff, Peyton Cuff and Cameron Cuff; six sisters, Elsie Via, Bassett, VA, Margaret (Clyde) Ross, Bassett, VA, Linda (Michael) Thomas, Fieldale, VA, Nannette (Robert) Tinsley, Rye Brook, NY, Debra (Arlian) Martin, Martinsville, VA; Sharon (David) Johnson, Martinsville, VA; four brothers, James Wimbush, Raymond (Jackie) Williamson, Roger Williamson all of Columbus, Ohio and Walter Williamson, Henry, VA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at Jerusalem Way of the Cross Church, 12:00 noon Saturday, January 6, 2018 with Elder Cleive Adams, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
