Shirley Lee Oliver

Shirley Wood Oliver, age 72 of Rocky Mount died Friday, September 2, 2011. She was born August 23, 1939 a daughter of the late, Herbert and Hazel Wood. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Gloria W. Windsor; and brother, James A. Wood. Shirley was retired in 1992 from Lemons’ Jewelry in Waynesboro, VA. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Cherri and Dean Boitnott of Boones Mill; son, C.H. Oliver of Washington, DC; two grandchildren, Jacob and Jeremy Boitnott; sister, Virginia Bryant of Timberville, VA; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from McDow Funeral Chapel (Waynesboro, VA) 11:00 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Don McClure and Pastor Bruce Huffman officiating. Interment will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society or Carilion Hospice of Franklin County. Her family will receive friends 5-7 pm Sunday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount and 6-8 pm on Tuesday at McDow Funeral Home, Waynesboro.
