Shirley Lawson Powell

Shirley Lawson Powell, age 80 of Rocky Mount died Tuesday, January 10, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale H. Powell; son, Anthony Dale Powell; parents, Oscar and Noel Lawson; daughter-in-law, Tracey Powell; and sister, Betty Lawson Gregory. Surviving are her sons, Jeff Powell and wife Carrie, Brad Powell; grandchildren, Kathleen Blair Powell, John Austin Powell, Anne Reeves Powell, Carson Anthony Powell, Hudson Ryan Powell; sisters and brother, Bobbie Lawson Oliver, Mary Lawson Fitts, Edward Thomas Lawson. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Mary Horner Walker Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Patrick County, Va. with Pastor Bill Roundtree officiating.
