Shirley Mae Rader

Shirley Mae Rader, age 81 of Rocky Mount passed away Friday, November 14, 2025. She was born March 24, 1944, the daughter of the late Cleveland Henry Nichols and Lou Ella Hall Nichols. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Mark Andrew Shorter and Jimmy Robert Shorter. Surviving are her husband of 34 years, Norris Edward Rader; daughters, Lisa Marie Hunn and Lucy Florentine Underwood; three step-daughters, Sandra Sheesley, Pamela Sue McNeil and Donna Lynn Rice; grandchildren, Josh, Laurie, Heather, Cheyenne, C.J., T.J., Cory, Dakota, Crystal, Jennifer, Santana, Laurie and Shirley; and 21 great-grandchildren. Services will be held privately at a later date. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
