Shirley H. Woody

Shirley H. Woody, age 79 of Rocky Mount passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016. She was born November 2, 1936. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe B. Woody; her daughter, Donna Sink; daughter-in-law, Donna Rigney. She also preceded in death by her parents, Albert Lester and Cora Evelyn Houston; brothers, Gordon, Willie, Adron, Bill, Bob, and Kenneth; sisters, Frances Hutchinson, Dorothy Brooks and Doris Atkins. She is survived by children; Carolyn Woody (James), Ronnie Rigney, Phyllis Rigney (friend, Bobby), Joseph Woody (Tami); 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; one brother, Cecil Wayne Houston, and one sister, Helen Gale Scott; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel, 10 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will follow in the Woody Family Cemetery. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
