Stanley B. Wells, age 71 of Boones Mill, died Tuesday, January 22, 2008.
He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee and employed with Southern States Cooperative for 15 years and the past 34 years owner of Jack Garst Agency, Inc. in Boones Mill.
He loved the outdoors; farming, hunting and fishing.
Mr. Wells is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mabel Wells; sons and daughters-in-law, Stan and Debbie Wells of Bristol TN, Jeff and Sheila Wells of Moneta, Tim and Davia Wells of Burnt Chimney, Mike and Amy Wells of Rocky Mount; four grandchildren, Rachel, Jordan, Kullen and Katie; two brothers, Kenneth Wells of Lexington, KY, Greeley Wells of Kingsport, TN; one sister, Mary Ruth Yates of Huntsville, AL; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the UVA Medical Center Doctors and staff for the care and concern during his illness and passing.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Bud Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
His family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
