Stella Mae Martin

Stella Mae Martin, 91, of Rocky Mount, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015. She was born on January 30, 1924 to the late James and Mattie Adams in Troutdale, Virginia. She was preceded in death by 10 siblings; her husband, Everett Martin; two sons, Rev. Billy Martin and Jackie Martin; and one grandson, SPC Shane Hodges. She was a beloved resident of Tanyard Village Apartments for 16 years where she leaves behind many friends. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Bertha Martin; nine grandchildren, Tammy Hodges, BJ Wagner, Tina Wimmer, Jeri Coburn, Michael Martin, Danny Martin, Billy Martin, Allen Martin, and James Martin; 21 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and special friend and caregiver, Shantelle Day. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 11, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Rocky Mount Church of God with Pastor Robert Meredith officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
