Stephen Wayne Blankenship

Stephen Wayne Blankenship, age 53 of Penhook passed away Thursday, February 10, 2011. Born August 21, 1957 Stephen was a devoted father and grandfather who loved the outdoors and working on cars. He was a member of Cool Springs Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Blankenship; sister, Lisa Blankenship; nephew, Michael Foley. Surviving are his son, Brandin Blankenship; mother, Christine Blankenship; grandson, David English; sisters, Sammy and (Ellen) Turner, Silas and (Cathy) Bradner, Wanda Ramey, Theresa Foley, Kenny and (Michelle) Reynolds; brothers, Michael Blankenship, Jeff Blankenship; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; special loved ones, Glenn Martin, Raymond Hodge, Marie Anderson, Brandon Anderson, and Cindy Trivette; and his animal companion, Faith. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Cool Springs Christian Church with Rev. Roy Parker and Rev. Ron Hennis officiating. Interment will follow in the Blankenship Family Cemetery. His family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
